The shiny things

Mika was born in a land called Arix, where people had magical powers. They all could develop their abilities and when they turn twelve years old, their skills would be defined for good. Every person in his family had a specific talent and not knowing what was your ‘extraordinary attribute’ was treated as a sign of weakness. The ones who could not manifest a trace of magic wouldn’t be considered apt for the role of a true magic conjurer. Summer heat

It was hot and the summer was at its peak. They were all in the backyard, together. Back then they did everything together and things were way easier to understand. As a family they had problems but life was in the present and the future was still like a bright promise. A moment like that was an opportunity to rejoice. Laughter and smiles were all over the place, filling their hearts and giving them hope. The afternoon was almost at the end and mom and kids were outside to play with water. Using buckets and a long garden hose they threw water at each other without even caring about getting wet. It felt like the only thing they cared about was having fun and playing. Happiness was revealed by the sun, making its way down from the skies to their faces. “ Oh my God, we should do this more often do n’t you think ? ’ ’ -asked mom joyfully. There's a point we reach and there's no turning back from it. Each day we stare through the window and the things we can see may give us the sense of despair and hopeless, but we have to keep believing in the future. Our hearts and minds are all full of possibilities, and it takes too little to trust in ourselves.Our achievements start to mean much more than just personal goals and our lives are meant to have a positive impact on other people's lives. That's when we find the true joy of our souls. When through the purpose of something bigger than our existence, we realize that empathy and compassion are part of who we are. The days are full of opportunities to help and to understand that our relationships need to be based on commitment and respect.
